Fernando Flores is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and engineer. From 2010 to 2013 he served as President of Chile's National Innovation Council for Competitiveness.

In my March 2014 column, I commented on Surfing Towards the Future, a report from Chile that offers a new interpretation of how innovations arise.1 The new story opens new possibilities for innovation in many areas including public policy, education, and world affairs. I recently discussed this with its main author, Fernando Flores.
