Dragonflies are among the most successful hunters in the insect world, able to keep track of prey even among a swarm of insects. Australian researchers have studied the dragonfly Hemicordulia tau, also known as the Tau emerald, shown here, to develop visual systems capable of helping improve the eyesight of blind people and making driverless cars more effective.
