Post-graduate students in medical software at India's Manipal Centre for Information Science (MCIS), a unique course which is not taught in any other Indian universities, will soon be specialists in formulating the software of most sophisticated modern medical equipment like CT, MRI and ultrasound. The students drawn from across the country have earned undergraduate degrees in electronics, bio-medical, medical electronics or computer engineering.
The first year of the two year program acquaints students with data structures, compilers, operating systems, the physics of imaging, digital imaging processing, and distributed computing. The second year is fully devoted to an internship with a medical equipment companies.
